AFIDA (to correlate with CAM diagnostic algorithm)
  • Acute onset and Fluctuating course
  • Inattention
  • Disorganized thinking
  • Altered level of consciousness
Or CAMPS Physical
  • Conscious levels impaired
  • Attention impaired
  • Memory (cognition) disturbed – poor concentration, distractible, speech incoherent
  • Perceptual disturbance – visual hallucinations
  • Short period of time (acute) phase and fluctuates
  • Evidence may be related to a physical cause e.g. sepsis, hypoxia, electrolyte abnormality
